A group of Chinese delegates has wrapped up its second batch of purchases in Taiwan. The two sides signed on the spot deals worth almost 150 billion US dollars, with another 600 billion dollars worth of agreements concerning planned purchases for the future.
This second group of delegates was made up of about 150 buyers from more than seventy mainland companies. They focused on agricultural produce, commodities, and craft works. The island held a string of trade-related activities during this visit, with more than 740 Taiwan enterprises taking part.
Aside from the deals signed, the visit has also improved the reputation of Taiwan products on the mainland. And that will certainly benefit business people on the island, when a long-term stable channel can be set up sending produce straight to the mainland. |
